I believe this is in Tucson Arizona

Link didn't work. I think it's www.c141heaven.info
I know what you mean though Darius. We were flying C-141s when they were brand new beck in the late 60s. Hard to believe that they are mostly retired now. Hell of a good aircraft.

I only rode a C-141 once, from Lajes, Azores to Charleston, SC, and it was miserable. We were told to dress warmly because it would be cold, and whatever was supposed to keep that bird cold broke because it was like a sweatbox in the tube and we were stripped down to skivvies and t-shirts and laying on the deck plates to keep cool. :)

Go to www.C-141heaven.com

I cry a little every time I end up there:(

Brother so do I. They got rid of a perfectly good air frame so that the clowns in the Pentagon could justify buying the C-17. C-17 has turned out to be a great one but nothing like the C-141. Really proud that I had the privilege to crew on them. Saddest part was delivering some to the Bone Yard. That place is neat but "Freaking depressing"...Carry On...cr8crshr/Tuck

Yea but I'll bet that the AC and flight crew were in climate controlled comfort up on the flight deck LOL.

Yep. We used to have that problem in the P-3s too. It really sucked when it was cold and we would crawl under the sensor stations to take a nap during transit to on-station (often 2-3 hours each way) because there were heated foot warmers under there, then we would lose the EDCs in the tube and you would be hot from being under the stations with no way to cool off.

And yes, I was never on a flight where the cockpit EDCs ever failed. Just the ones in the tube. :) Funny how that always seems to be the case regardless of service or aircraft model.

cool stories & cool photos & videos guys

Thanks for posting the picture of the "Golden Bear" Cr8crsr. I remember seeing this particular C-141 at Hickam when I was there in the late 60s. I even remember the tail #8088. They were pretty new then. We were still flying our old C-124 Globemasters.

Don't know about you Bill but I logged many hours on the Golden Bear. Tail number 38088 first c-141delivered to TravisAFB.

Yep and all the rest of the fleet too when they were there at Travis. Total of 5800 flying hours in the C-141. I also have 1280 hours in C-130's and 3200 hours in the C-5. Took me 30 plus years to do it but it seems like only yesterday I was a Baby Load. That's a total of 10,280 flying hours. Divide that by 24 hours and I have spent 428 1/3 days in the air. That is "lotso flying". Still I miss it to this day and if I have the chance to return as a Human in my next life form then I want to be a Loadmaster all over again. Best job in all the Armed Services that have that Career Field....Yet I am partial as well....

they came out real good ,looks like you had a real good time, thanks for taking the photos and for posting them for us :headbang:

Had a blast. Looks to be 3 areas. The museum, the bone yard and the mothball yard. Must be 50sq miles of planes. Standing under a SR-71, B52, B17 ect and seeing an X15 was a bucket list check off.
The satellite shots posted before are awesome. Fun thread, thanks guys.

They have rows of B-1's, A-10's, F-16's, F-15's and some B-52's among others in mothballs. Engines and cockpits covered with shrink wrap and ready to go at a moments notice.

Funny. Actually I just made the jump to a smart phone yesterday. The S4. Now it takes forever to upload the pics I've takin with it. Not to my computer but onto sites and e-mail. Still learning it.
