I can break it down and make it 'flatter' to reduce the bulk and will go weigh/measure for determining shipping. Any preference; USPS, UPS, or FedEx, or, a shipping company (which likely will be cheaper). The PM won't work?

It will be over the size limit for regular shipping through USPS/UPS/FEDEX, it would have to go by UPS or FedEx freight instead (big $$$). I would usually say Fastenal, but I think something might be going on with their rates -- they just quoted me almost $300 for a small shipment, which is more than double what I'm used to with them. So I would suggest either Greyhound GPX (just pack it well) or hand delivery through uShip. If uShip you need to be patient getting the right price, and make sure you get an independent carrier (not a broker). My 2 cents.

FWIW, I am going to Atlanta GA and then northern GA (not too far a drive away from Atlanta) next month to deliver 2 large Chassis Dolly tool's I built for the Porsche 928 and retrieve a Porsche 928S4 engine. I can bring the seat with me on this route in case anyone along the way or near the way (coming from San Antonio) is seriously intent on this seat. It is bulky and it is heavy, and very awkward in handling, which I may take the backs off to aid in transport.

Fastenal must have gone up...shipped a bumper from Ky. to Ga. and they charged $100.00.

FYI.
Just got a quote from freight companies for over 500 bucks to ship a bench seat.
Fastenal was 500 as well. Their rates skyrocketed and will only insure to 250 bucks!
