B Body Cop Car

LOL...................Ya! can't lock yourself out of a 69 Plymouth.

I used to say cars with "push door handle button while closing door, after pushing down lock", were "anti-stupidity devices", and "lock button pops back up when closing door" cars were "anti-idiocy devices".

After I have my door panels rebuilt, I think I will leave those little push down locks on the shelf, which will necessitate locking the doors with the key in hand. This would also keep anyone with a coat hanger from accessing ("thief" without tools will have to break a window, oh well).

I have locked myself out with the key in the ignition.
So not 100% idiot proof just 99.9% of the time.

I spent a day with my Dad at his office in New Kensington, PA back in the early 70s. He had a Monaco back then. We went to go to lunch and he found out he had locked his keys in the car. He was going to call my Mom and ask her to drive the spare set over when this black kid about my age, 12 or so, comes by and asks if we were locked out. My Dad said yeah, and the kid asked if we had a straight-slot screwdriver. My Dad went inside and got a regular screw #2 screwdriver, and the kid stuck it into a gap between two concrete parking stops and kicked it until he had about a 30-degree bend in it, then he stuck it into the door gap, moved it around for 10 seconds or so, and voila! The door opened.

I don't know how he did it, but he popped that lock without needing to touch the lock button.

3 pages and not one single picture of the car.....Why?

GG was the front runner of the numbers game and brought a lot of things to light and also raised a lot of questions. Nothing is perfect or clear cut back in Ma Mopar's time....they did strange things at times...There are still some mopar mysteries that are unsolved....

Best advice get with the police car crowd......

...and a LOT of people quote his research way out of context....

My car is "one of five" that left the assembly line with these options", and leave out the "...that I have record of in my registry" part.

Trust me I am no fan of GG........I completely agree of your points above.....

It spun out of control unfortunately....

The negatives unfortunately outweighed the positives.....

LOL.................

This just showed up at a show this afternoon. Not a real cop car though.
