B-body vs. A-body...

I like the duster, but think $13K is too high .... id say more around the $10K area max, but thats without physically being able to look at it .. ...

hope you get the b body.i wouldnt trust a flipper farther then i could throw a ford!!!!
a freind of my dads was a flipper for a while, and the stuff i saw him do to sell cars would make you cry.
from gear oil in the motor to wood shavings in the rear diff!just dont!

Decision, Decision

What can I say I like both A and B body Mopars. However, in this case I would purchase the car that is not a clone. That Duster looks sharp and a 4 speed at that. I have owned two 69 Road Runners and a 71 Dart and enjoyed them all. Nothing wrong with a small block, horse power, a little torque, 4 speed, 3:55gears?? I would buy the Duster hands down in this case.

i want something that i can light the tires up when i want...but mostly around town and to cruise nights..

You just convinced me:eusa_clap:Get the duster. If the car checks out,13K is almost fair.

Here's a duster a friend recently purchased for $24K

i don't mind the clone cars...i just don't want to lose money...meaning..if i get it for $8000 and fix some issues, am i gonna get low balled 5 yrs from now..i know its not gonna be a $20k car...but I think as long as I break even in the future, I can live with that.
I am skeptical about the duster, even though it's #s matching...it is being sold by a Flipper, and already has some visible surface rust..which says to me what's hiding under the paint??

Drive them both and then decide. The Duster will most likely handle better since it's lighter over all plus it has a lighter engine up front. That's a big plus. 340's usually ran circles around 383's in stock form. I've seen very few 383's run good enough to give a 340 fits. The Duster will probably return better fuel mileage too. Fun factor goes to the Duster imo. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket and have car fever, wait until something else comes along since these really don't appeal to you 100%. I've been looking for another car and I'm being picky because I will keep it probably for the rest of my life and I want it to be something I really want. I have one more car in my shop to put together and I'm not doing anymore of them!

I couldn't agree more with this, back when things started to get ruff with gas and all, The ones with the big block cars were paying more for gas because they usually took more, they were heavier, insurance was going up and up, it was kind of like getting penalized for having the "Big ole muscle car" and then a little 340 Duster pulls up beside one and just waxes them, lighter car, easy on gas, insurance reasonable, had some guys scratching there heads.... I do love the B bodys, but ill never put down what the a bodys are able to do..

Good advice Cranky. OP might be better off finding something that turns his crank at first sight.
