working on updating wiring on my 69 gtx. going by mad electric wiring diagram to add volt gauge. got new wiring through bulkhead, amp gauge has been converted by auto instruments. my question is the black wire going back to alternator. do i have to run a new wire from starter relay to alternator or can i use black wire thats already there?

Ask Bee83. He just did the Mad Electric Ammeter bypass surgery.

Even though I put a new engine harness on I ran a new wire from relay to alt.used a 10 ga wire and put a fusible link at relay end.

did you leave original wire hooked up or bypassed it completely
