Barrett Jackson

Huh I thought this a new series "Desperate housewives sugar daddys!" Thanks mister obvious your a life saver!

Their was an article in mopar mag a few years back...The guy had a old original mopar drag car...Told b-j that he wanted a certain amount of money for the car...It was hammered way below the owners asking price...The owner was pissed...He chained the car up to a pole so the new owner cannot take the car...Lawsuit came and gone...Hey it,s all about the almighty dollar right?
Petty Blue 67 GTX

The year I went out was pure curosity, Once was enough for me, I will say it was agreat car show.

That said I saw some very shakey restorations (rattle can type) and people were bidding them up. But on the other side I saw some great resto's that the seller didn't even come close to cost and had to sell. You have to have some huge corlionis to sell with no reserve!!

There are several Mopars scheduled tonight:
63 Dodge 330
67 GTX
64 Belvedere (looks exactly like my Dodge):)
65 Coronet

Tomorrow and Saturday there are more and nicer ones!

I record it on the DVR and then watch what I want. Yeah way too many Chevys and Fords for me. ;)

Thx for the tip-Almost forgot its on with all these werid Ontario channels-

His right hand man seems like he 's on an ego trip.wears those dark sunglasses I guess he thinks he's a celeb.

Try to count how many times he yaps up a car as "a once in a lifetime opportunity". LOL - once in a lifetime? It'll probably be for sale again at BJ within a few years. LOL

If I'm not mistaken, BJ gets 10% on each end of the sale - 10 from the buyer, 10 from the seller. Nice coin for them - although I'm sure the overhead is tremendous.

I don't have Speed Channel anymore :(

But I have Hallmark and every other stupid womens' channel that's known to man. :(

LOL - feel for ya man!:sad2: Hey - you're too busy with that warehouse in Milwaukee right now anyway! Just keep mama happy with her lady channels so you can keep playing with cars.

Wouldn't you like to reach through the tv screen and punch the guy with the dark glasses.lol

yes very much so he looks like he should be at a poker tournament with those stupid glasses he wares all the time what a idiot!!

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

They are spendy. I heard on air that it is $600 to $1500 for consignment fees, depending on auction day, PLUS 8% sellers premium,PLUS a 10% premium to the buyer. Nice chunk of change. They ought to match the charity bids, not just hammer it for free.

Is it just me or are they Mopar Haters @ Barret - Jackson, I saw the 64 Belve go thru, They gave it about 2 minutes the bidding slowed and the hammer dropped, next up was a Camaro, the bidding slowed and they kept pushing the bidders up to 75K...........Then comes a 68 Charger, same thing bidding slowed and they didn't even try to bid it up, hammer dropped @40K push off the stage & get another Camaro.................

I guess if you've sold a car there before & they know you they keep the car on stage & push the bids higher..................And who ever said it ...This is a once in a life time chance Your right !! I guess every year you get to have a once in a lifetime chance to buy a car at BJ LOL

Gotta Love It!!!!

Yep. Once in a life time........ 4 times a year.

i was there in 07 just to see if it was what it is hyped to be. if ringling brothers
had the greatest show on earth they weren't making nothing compared to this guy.
there are 3 other auctions going on at the same time within 10-15 miles of that one.
the one at a casino about 10 miles away had a lot of reasonably priced stuff.

would i go back? naw, been there done that.

I think last year someone mentioned that a lot of Mopars go to other auctions now - like Russo and Steele - to avoid BJ's higher fees. So BJ doesn't even get as many Mopars as it once did. At the end last night, Joy was interviewing Jackson and Davis - all 3 of them in one camera shot talking goofy. I'm still nauseous.

Uh,we need to talk...

OK,my turn to bitch about the BJ;sorry...the Barrett-Jackson Auction. Would never bitch about a...never mind. Actually,my pissing and moaning regards Spud Channel's coverage of the BJ,I mean auction.

Example: Remember when the coverage was about the machines rolling across the block? See much of that lately? No,unless it's the aforementioned Corvette,Mustang,Camaro or some Pro-Touring abomination(sorry,I don't like the look). Last night they hyped the "Woodinator" as one of their "Fantasy Bid" cars. Nice ride, not overdone. BUT!!!!! Right behind it in line was a 1964 Plymouth Fury/Sport Fury(I'm thinking Fury cuz of the lack of front bumper guard),that I caught a couple of glimpses of. Even Laura saw it and remarked "Let's see what that goes for!". Well, after the bidding on the '51 Ford wagon ended,we got 3 ******* minutes of commercials(another peeve!),come back to a fluff piece on a '69 Boss 429 Mustang(it was nice,ya gotta admit,if you saw it) and two more minutes of fuckin' commercials!!! After sitting through that crap,we go back to the auction and get-TaDa!-another effin' fluff piece on I forgot what. I'm going to check today and see what the Plymouth went for, because I never saw it cross the block!

Speed Channel has forgotten the "Speed" aspect as well as the diversity of what constitutes "speed". And it ain't "Pimp My Ride" or endless UTI commercials-nothing against UTI;good school from what I understand-or paid commercial programming or NASCAR cooking shows or... Ever since Speed was bought by Fox(If I remember, they were an independent network in the early years-like ESPN) it,as a "motorsports network" has become Reality TV!

I could rant all effin' day on this, but I won't...:eusa_boohoo:

OK;no rant,just observations...

Went to the BJ site(not that one-they got viruses) and checked on the '64 I mentioned(a Fury) and the aforementioned Belvedere(ooooohh, nice!) and was surprised at the prices. The black Belv ONLY went for $44K(with buyer's premium)? WTF? From the pics, that looked like a very nice car-any one have more info on it,or why it may have been so low in bidding(other than being rushed through as mentioned). Now,the Fury...was it(as stated in the B-J info) a real 426 4-speed SW car? If so,and you got(if it was genuine) Stage I MW top end on it,that's a hell of a deal at $77,000(w/ b-p)! Just my opinion...

Were I rich(Dreeeeeaaam, dream dream dream),I'd make room for both of those cars! I wonder if the purchasers were real gearheads who'd appreciate those cars,or gold-chainers with more money and ego than interest? Sorry,I rant...again...

was watching last night and a 2012 boss 302 ( awesome car by the way ) ... some *** actually gave over $400,000 for the car ! yeah i know it was for charity, and the car isnt even availiable yet, but damn ...... id like to see the dealer mark-up on this thing when it does come out !
