The bidding war was fast and crazy from the start. The guy that bought it lives locally in Arizona.

I dont begrudge anyone. And people can spend their money on whatever they want. But 4.2 million for the batmobile?

i could buy a helluva lot of cars for 4.2.

a fool and his money....

Should have come with the Cat woman for that price, and all her furry friends! lol.. Which one sold, the original one from back in the old days with Adam West, or the newer one? No, it wouldn't make a difference if i had the money, bit crazy to me..

Thanks much Hemi Rebel!! I always liked the looks of it, not to the tune of that price though! lol

George even gave the winning bidder his batmobile jacket right off his back.

WOW a ALL RACE street legal Ray Evernham 64 Belvy...

well he did save allots of money in transportation costs.

Not sure about the Belvy;I mean, the body style always made the jeans tighter, but the oversized wheels do nothing for me.

Oh,the Batmobile started out as the Lincoln Futura show car and was given(I think-I'm wingin' it here) to George Barris to customize. For 4.2 mil,I would ask for Yvonne Craig in her Batgirl outfit. And Catwoman(Julie Newmar preferred).

It shows that What comes around Goes around! Stock not doing well so the rich are buying cars again. Just going to make it harder for a true car guy to buy one! Filters down to the project ones also. You know the story I seen one like it on B-J sell for? So my rust bucket parts car is worth! JMO

'64 - Yes
Big Rims - No
Yvonne and Julie - Yes, Yes, Yes:love5:

I agree on all counts, Al!

I know that's freaken' crazy money, I think he must be the President or a Founder of the more money than brains club...LOL... I couldn't even imagine it, especially for a damn TV car, especially one built by George Barris... made his millinium...

:iamwithstupid: That thing is just bad ***, it really needs different wheels, polished Halibrands or something era correct, not them NASCAR wheels, but I like it... great job Ray... that's worth more than any "Batmobile" to me anyway...LOL...

Yeah, Budnicks, a set of Halibrands on that 64 would be perfect!!!

And unless the Batmobile buyer is Jay Leno - who said in an interview about the Ecojet turbine car: “As president of the ‘more money than brains club’ I just like to do interesting automotive things,” - that title is already taken. So anyone else has to be VP of that club, and it aint me!

Think about what the buyer & seller both pay in addition to the car. Those B/J guys are laughing all the way to the bank!
