Has anyone removed the guts from one of these, and replaced with a newer cell system ? It's an Axion Turbo Start, gel style, I believe ? Seems like I could hole cut around the posts, and remove the top, so as to clean out the original innards, and try to for a replacement in place. Other option, go in from bottom, clean out, and bond new terms to old. Any & all input appreciated, Thanks...

I knew there would be a way. How messy when you get inside ?

Real messy!

mine was fully discharged, and still was smoldering and sparking.

when I was about to take the cutoff wheel to the bottom, I said to myself, “this has the potential to be catastrophic. Oh well, here goes”

I'll start looking for the new cells, and other hardware, so I can be ready when the weather breaks, Thanks !

I did mine but it had two gel type mini batteries inside wired in series to the posts. When I cut the bottom open, it made a huge mess from the plastic black material, but no acid or anything once inside. Still haven't gotten around to wiring it up with another battery, but wouldn't take much to finish it. Low on my list of priorities at the moment I guess.
