Battleship Grey Gloss painted cars everywhere

Personally I hate grey. And for me nothing wrecks a classic musclecar faster than painting it grey. The guy writing the cheque can choose what he wants though of course.
Silver isn't bad at all but I just don't get the appeal of battleship grey.

Agreeable Grey must be trendy among car buyers nowadays...
Agreeable Grey with red or pink highlight stripes is so 1980's

Just goes to show that if you hold onto your old clothes long enough, they eventually come back into fashion.

It appears y'all are correct:
Most Popular Car Colors in America | Edmunds
Black, white and gray. How....monochromatic.

That said, I specifically went after a black on black Charger R/T for our late-model buy, back in 2011.
It just tickled my fancy more than the other colors available, always wanted a black car....
The 2004 Ram is white because it was the only one spec'ed like it in the region of any color. Easy decision.
Of course, Fred.....is VERY red.

The Destroyer Grey first appeared on Dodge Challengers, now it's on every car and truck! I personally don't care for the color at all. I want my redeye to be Gold Rush.

I drove my "graphite" Dakota to Tractor Supply........... parked in between a Ford and a GMC of simiar colors.......... I'm gonna two-tone my truck when I catch my breath, the solid graphite is killing me

Yeah, color is a problem. Ended up with 2 this color just to avoid black, white, or gray. No high impacts were available.

When I was shopping for a lightly used Jeep Grand Cherokee, I found the majority were also either white, black, or silver/gray. Then, I found this one in Slate Blue. 2020 Limited X, with SRT appearance package. It turned 12,000 miles on the way home from buying it.

We used to paint electric motors that color for the mines same name looks crap on cars

I think it was Freiberger or Finnegan that said it in an early episode of roadkill

Most people don’t care about cars anymore. They’re just appliances, like toasters or refrigerators. That’s why they all come in boring appliance colors, black, white, or silver.

Agreed. All part of that "don't offend anyone" mentality.
Kumbaya.

I remember shopping for my Camaro. I told the salesgal midlife crisis' don't come in black, white, gray or brown. Eliminated all but one car in the inventory.

When I look out on the roads, it reminds me of when I watched black-and-white tv when I was a kid.

When I bought my last new car in 2007, I special ordered a Chrysler 300C in red, with a parchment interior, similar colors to what my '69 GTX wore back in the day. When I took delivery, Rob Clark told me the car was having the same effect on customers the GTX had done back in the day, drawing attention like a magnet. He then pointed out that his inventory was black, white, and silver. Said that you have to stock what the customers will buy, not what turns their heads.

For the most part, most of my new cars were White or Silver. I used to get a new one constantly and those two colors are extremely easy to sell. It's business.

I don't get the attraction to this color.
It reminds me of a car in gray primer waiting for its finish coat.

I'm waiting for the red primer look to make a comeback! :D

What's the deal with the recent proliferation of cars painted Battleship Grey Gloss? It seems every manufacturer has a car repping some form of single-stage grey gloss paint these days. "Agreeable Grey" I'll call it. It just makes me think of the days when cars came in many bold colors; of course Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth had the "high impact" color choices...but most manufacturers these days haven't got the balls to offer anything other than black, white, silver and maybe red, but I don't remember cars ever being painted non-metallic gloss grey until recently. Agreeable Grey must be trendy among car buyers nowadays...
I guess I am old school, but if I am going to spend the money buy a new car it is not going to look like waxed primer. As a kid we did that back in the 70's when we could not afford a paint job.
