This 1968 Plymouth GTX was formerly owned by "Mike D" of The Beastie Boys", he purchased it and registered it through their production company "Beastie Boys Productions".....there's still a copy of the registration with the production company name and address on it. Mike D. bought the car in 1987, and drove it for a while...then it was parked for over 20 years, a friend of mine who was the tour manager for "The Red Hot Chili Peppers" and good friends with Mike D. were talking about Mopars one day and my friend mentioned he had just sold a '68 Road Runner, Mike D. then mentioned he had a '68 GTX that had been sitting for years....long story short my friend managed to get it.
As you can see the years weren't kind to the Plymouth,(good thing it was in California, so it was pretty dry...but weathered).
These pics were taken at my buddies house here in L.A., we were taking out the trans for a reseal/rebuild...I also swapped out the under dash wiring harness (that was fried).
The car is an original numbers matching 440/column auto. factory red with white interior.
