Beautiful Q5 Bright Turquoise Metallic 1969 Coronet 440

Let's just cut out the factory clearcoat bullshit right now
A Brief History of Automotive Paint | Island Detail and Color A Brief History of Automotive Paint

I remember Centari Clear Acrylic enamel 780s in the 80s, I doubt existed in the 60s....... I believe the only clear at the time would have been lacquer; and there's no way they'd put that over acrylic enamel...... if they did, there is no way it would have lasted

Beautiful car *and* wheels, those are genuine Centerlines, not one of the many knock-off designs. They cost a lot more than the knock-offs did, and were very lightweight. There's a reason why you saw Centerlines on so many drag cars. Weld Wheels too, but those were even more expensive...

OT But I love Q5. in 69 there was a Q5 auto 69 Runner with white interior in my neighborhood and I distinctly remember another neighbor bringing home his brand new S-bee with the whole family inside, Q5, white vinyl top, white bucket seat interior, PW, 4 speed, quarter scoops, N96, magnums, redlines. I don't think I'll ever forget that vision, just a beautiful Super Bee.

It is unusual for a LA built car to have a broadcast sheet. I only have 10 or so in my library. He is fortunate to have one. This is a first for me with the coding on the BS. There is quite the input error with much of the coding. QWERTY keys = 123456.

There is nothing special about the paint finish or this car in general. OK, it has a unique color, but not uncommon. It is actually a sales bank car (Y16) if you look at the BS. The S on the extra ribbon tag is just an inspector stamp. Very common for LA cars.

With all of this said, I do think it is a sharp car done in the spirit of Day 2 from the era.
