belvedere radio and speakers

I think im going to put a radio and speakers in my Belve sedan
there is the stock radio not working.Does anybody know of hand the dimension of that speaker? I thinking doing the center speaker and two small ones in the back or just keeping it simple and the center one . not looking for anything performance just a bit of sound and the traffic in the morning, i do daily drive it in the summer .when im not taking clinst cars and my wife's jag!

I think it is 4X6, but it's in a bracket which makes the area actually bigger. You have to be careful on replacement as the original is low profile. I made a special bracket and put 2 4" round speakers in the front area of one of my 67's.

It's been a long time since I purchased a replacement for mine at Radio Shack and with an AC car it's nearly impossible to get to, but a 4x6 as Jerry Hall mentioned is what sticks in my mind also. Seems I also remember it should be a 4 ohm speaker for a factory radio which was how I ended up at Radio Shack back then - but again this is 15 (+) years old memory.

I knew it was a 4" x something. Actually is a 4"x10".

ok great thanks , going to get dash one, i always hated the intrusive in the door speakers that people use to do looks so bad on the panel.
