What's the best size drag slick I could run on my car, would prefer it not to be tightly crammed in there.

Too many variables. Ones that fit, and are the correct size for the car to hook... but not bog.

Radials fit the best in my 67 b-body, they have the flatest sidewall.

Widest face & section that fit, AND the diameter that matches your gear ratio. Too tall a tire will really slow you down. Do the math & figure out what diameter you need for your gear ratio.

You should be able to fit an 9" slick in there if you let the axle drop way down and some slight modifications. I'd think 28" max with stock tin and a little work. THey also make a 26x8.5 ET Drag that should work. The section width is .8" less than the 9" stuff. For a radial a 275/60/15 would fit with some massaging but 255/60/15 should be fine with no modification if they make a DR in that size.

I ran 9x26x15 on an 8 inch wide rim with 4.5 inch back spacing on my 67 gtx. This size was perfect for me, no rubbing and no bog but I also have 3.91's and a 4spd. It would finish at 5500 rpm.
