What would be the best intake for my 79 300 with the factory police engine? I replaced the lean burn with an Edlebrock 1406 carb and I'm getting ready to replace the timing chain with a double roller. Figured I would wake it up a bit from the 197 hp rating with a new aluminum intake. Headers and new mufflers are coming up later. I see a few on ebay and not sure what would be best for my engine. I know dual plane is the way to go but I would like some feedback from you guys on the pros and cons of the different types out there. :thinker:

IMHO Edelbrock RPM Airgap. I had one on my 340 and I loved it. Wish they made them for the B engines.

Definitely a dual plane for an old stock engine. The 360 TQ intake and carb is a good setup for a mild engine and they are almost free. The AFB you got is a good carb so no worries there. Personally I don't think you will see a huge gain from an Edelbrock vs that 360 intake assuming you do nothing else. Now a cam change will definitely wake things up even with the 360 intake.
