Best Torque Wrench

I don't have a torque wrench that long or digital - but - be sure to turn the clicker type torque wrenches back to zero when you are finished with them!

Learned this the hard way with my old Craftsman wrench. I did not turn it back and put it away - some long time later - we're talking years, probably.... I went to torque a wheel lug nut - it ratcheted like normal until it got to the torque setting and then totally let go instead of clicking! Can't begin to tell you how good that garage floor felt on my knuckles..... OUCH!!!!

Now the old Craftsman clicker is riding in my car beside my seat - it may not torque a 'head', but I bet it can provide a good attitude adjustment if the need arises! LOL.... (Replaced it with a Tekton).
 
If you have access to someone that can calibrate/check them then you can buy one and check it for accuracy.
 
Whichever one maintains calibration is the best. Remember to wind it down to zero after usage. I used torque wrenches everyday for almost 30 years.
 
If suggest SK. They are my go-to brand. I cannot find anything other than micrometer in a half inch drive.
I was planning on getting one for myself.
Maybe I'm old fashioned but I don't trust digital much
 
Don't throw that Craftsman wrench away. Just last week I took my 35 year old Craftsman torque wrench back to Sears and exchanged it for a new one. The sales guy started to give me grief so I showed him pictures on my phone of my Craftsman roll-away tool boxes full of their tools. He called a manager and they made it happen. They also replaced a socket that the chrome had started to peel from and a 1/4" drive ratchet that didn't ratchet anymore. I could have paid the difference and got the digital but I elected not to.
Even if you decide to buy another brand you could get the Craftsman replaced and then sell it to offset the cost .
 
Both of the Craftsman Digi-Click 1/2 and 3/8 drive torque wrenches are on sale right now for 50% off!!! So 60 bucks each. I got mine 5 years ago, and they were only 20% off, so that's a good deal! I like them, never had a problem with either one. The only thing I do when not in use for a long period is take the batteries out so not to risk a leak if they decide to leak.
