What are the best gaskets to get? rubber with steel core or cork or Rubber-Coated Fiber or Rubber?

Cork is leaking on me well after taking the covers on and off for valve adjustments so what is the best gasket and method to keep the leak out?:headbang:

Good luck, I've tried them all. The cheep cork are as good as anything I've tried. Not much will hold up to the constant static pool of oil under an RB valve cover.

Normally I prefer cork but in the case of the valve covers I am with shag766 and usually go with Felpro. Especially if you are constantly in there mucking with valve lash. they tend to hold up better with regular removal. Hell the ones I have on it now have been removed several times and still are sealing up.

I use the felpros glue one side to the cover put a coat of grees on the other titen with a nutdriver just snug I have taken the covers off more times then I can remember for three yrs.and are still good

Ive always used Felpro and have had nothing but good luck with them.

I am going to give these fel pro's a try FPG VS50145R (Napa auto) see what happens, they are stiff black seem good for rubber coat fiber they are supposedly for extreme heat. Silicone one side with ultra black rtv and i guess oil the other side?

Update: The fel-pro rubber coated fiber gaskets are working excellent, I have taken the valve covers on and off at least 3 times and no leaks, sealed one side to the cover with rtv and good to go.

Moroso's rubber w/steel core are the only ones I use

Moroso makes the best valve cover gasket. They have a steel core.
Ford and chevy have had these FOREVER..about damned time we get em
I don't use too many moroso products but these are the best valve cover gaskets and they are reuseable.

I would tend to agree 100%, can get them from Mancini Racing also they are a little pricey $39, but you will never need another set...

I always had good luck with the good 'ol rubber impregnated cork. What covers are you using? If steel then you may need to look at them carefully to make sure they are not bent up.
