I have a 70 Road Runner with a Champion aluminum radiator. I’m overheating at extended idle speed (fan clutch bad & new one on the way). I’d like to improve my fan shroud while I’m at it. I’m running a cut up/modified factory shroud now, but it doesn’t fit the best. I’m headed to a junkyard this weekend. What shroud should I look for? It’s a 26-inch. I’m sure I will have to modify the junkyard shroud & I honestly don’t care if I use a (*gasp*) shroud from a different make of car. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You need something deeper, conventional wisdom is that the fan should be halfway into the shroud. Your current shroud appears to fit well, can you modify it to encircle the fan?

Looks like you're space limited between the clutch and radiator. You may need to make, or get one made, fan shroud out of aluminum. I don't think Champion had their units setup for oe shrouds.

I've used this fan shroud on my 70 R/T.
It looks different than yours, but it's fastened to the Champion radiator too with no issues on clearance or cooling issues.
I can check it for a part number tomorrow.
