To the best of my knowledge , the gen 1 hemis, 318 polys , La engines, and even the gen 3 hemis have somewhat compatable trans bolt patterns, a bolt here and there added or missing, but the b/rb, and the /6 have different bolt patterns all their own. This opinion only applies to aluminum, post 1961 torqueflites.
The very early gen 1 hemi has a sort of cast-in bellhousing and no readily available modern auto trans that will work.
