Anyone on here mess with boats as well as the old Mopars? I am looking into a 92 checkmate and was curious who else enjoys boating as well? Post some pics of your boats, new and old if you got em!

My dad had one of these that he bought almost new back in the early 80's, which was his pride and joy....

I am lookin at this. I'll end up peeling the vinyl crap down the sides but its a very nice boat for a 92.

Being an old fart now, a pontoon boat is in order, but I still like some speed, so one of these might do the trick for me....

My old boat was a Sears sold '67 Sportcraft . I replaced a 75HP Scotts-McCulloch with a '86 Chrysler 4 cylinder 90HP...…...

2 great days in a boat owners life
the day you buy it
& the day it's sold :poke:

it's a fun little boat, my dad loves it
it sits a lot
only used in fresh water, lakes or reservoirs up here etc.

I've had a couple myself too, Donzi 22 99 (?) Z23 sport (fugly *** boat)
I got for partial payment, doing a job, worked well sbc vortec I/O
& A 91 (?) Malibu Sunsetter ski boat with a 350 sbc Ib
they were way over, what I needed
they're (were) too big for many of our lakes up here
had a Sanger 20' (?) Bass Boat with a big 150 Evinrude in the 80's,
I got in a trade

I use to like going out quite a bit
loved going to Tahoe, Incline/Northshore especially
& when I was living close to the delta

my family has always had boats of some sort
it's a real sickness :poke:

had a few others too, smaller boats & outboards

I use to do a lot of fishing with my granddad (dads father)
& my grandpa (moms father)
or my uncles in Bethel Island, they always had a boat or 3

don't do much of the boat deal, at all now

I don't think I'll ever own another one

We have 2003 Glastron SX195. Here it is at lake Crescent Florida. We also spend time on the Halifax river which is cool because the dolphins will swim with the boat it you cruise slower.

Here’s my 1977 Pantera.
It has a 512 CI big Chevy in it (proud to say not a single GM part is in or on the engine! BBC in architecture only)
Dry sump oiling, dry exhaust, Merlin block, Brodix heads, etc...
Makes 675 on the dyno.

I restored this boat over six years time.

Checkmate is a good boat.
Be sure to check closely for rot.
