R.I.P. , Bob. A truly funny guy on the Johnny Carson show. I remember him telling Johnny he was " The King of the Two-Baggers! ". Carson asked him if that was because he hit so many doubles. He replied that it was because he picked up girls that were so ugly, he insisted they wear 2 bags over their head, in case the first one broke!
He was the main broadcaster for my Chicago Cubs rival, The Milwaukee Brewers, and when they came and played in Chicago, he would occasionally come over to our booth and sit with the announcers during an inning or so, talk baseball, and call a bit of the game as well. He would even stay to do the infamous "Take Me Out To The Ball Game for the 7th-inning Stretch" and was really very good at it. The great ones always leave us with lasting memories that can never be duplicated...cr8crshr/Bill
