Body Work Advice

Wow, hell of a project Kevin, we'll help you out anyway we can. You will want to brace this one off pretty well because I'm thinking you are going to remove the floorpan and replace that torsion bar crossmember and be fixing the inner rockers simultaniously. Is this a post coupe car or a hardtop?.

Thanks! I'm hoping this is the worst of it. I have the car pretty much gutted, I need to finish getting the dash out then I'll start on the rockers and floor.

It's a post car.

Do you have any pictures of how you braced your car that would give me some direction as far as to where to brace it at.

I doubt I'll find replacement rockers so I'm probably going to have to patch it in. That's the problem with these cars, there's not a lot of sheet metal being stamped out for them.
I'll get the rot cut out of the outter rocker then I'll be able to get a good look at the inner rocker. If it's solid then I'll just patch the outer. If it's rotted also then I'll have to cut it out and rebuild it.

I'm getting ready to head to the Chrysler Classic Race at Norwalk, so I won't be getting much done this weekend. Hopefully I can find some parts!!!!

Thanks again for your help.

Kev

No problem, glad to hear it's a post car, some of the bracing has already ben done then.

Something else you may want to consider (tool wise) on a project this big, a plasma cutter is your friend.......it's quick and it's quiet.

I know, I've though about that. Right now I need to get a mig welder and a bigger air compressor.
I have a tig welder and laying on my head trying to hold the torch, rod and operating the peddle is no fun. LOL.

If I can find one at the right price I'll jump on it.

Thanks
