Bondo Nightmare

Scary stuff! I worked for a GM dealer body shop many moons ago. I remember the body shop manager tell the body man to stuff the doors and quarters with steel wool because the customer asked to make sure the repairs were done using metal!

That is funny. A couple of my doors have newspaper for the bondo to have something to latch onto. This is temporary of course until I can find better parts.

You will notice in the pictures I posted the original color of this car was the aqua color.

It is a shame somebody went through a lot of work to paint it a common white.

The car would have been gorgeous in the original color.

Bought a 67 GTX years ago that was parked due to the bondo cracking and separating. WHOLE car had 2-3 inches of putty covering it. Farmer I bought car from said he bought in 69 as a roll over and he and brother puttied up, painted and drove for years before got too bad. Wish had pics was BAD.

What did you end up doing with the car?

Was it safe to drive?

I think doing something like that is lazy when there were used parts available to replace damaged panels.

These days we can't find anything used, so a little bondo is needed.
