I got a ? Is there a Camaro or specifically a Z-28 equivalent of our forum ? My scrounge buddy finds more neat stuff by accident than any 2 other people I know. He found what he thinks is an original "DZ" 302 chebby engine. Anybody know anything about them ? What he`d like to do is track down the car & offer to reunite all the parts. A nice gesture. Anybody got any ideas or connections ? Later,Don.

Here is another thats worked for Chevy guys in researching, these guys might be able to help some... There's really quite a few out there that you could post what your looking for.. Good luck. http://www.camaros.net/

"2-28" motor

Well, the motor was pulled out of a 34 coupe. The owner wants something a little less rumpy. Chuck looked it over & about fainted. It unfortunately has been modded at least a little. It currently has a 3 deuce setup on top, along with a little chrome. Probably missing all the original brackets etc. I`ve not seen it yet, maybe next weekend. He wants to make the owner happy & also get this 302 back where it belongs. I know how I`d feel if someone reunited me with a missing motor for a resto I was doing. Hope it all works out.

"DZ" code 302's were 1969 mills,"MO" was the 1968 code(I used to have a 1968 Z-28),and I think "MA" was the 67 code. All came with 780cfm vacuum Holleys, intake(aluminum high-rise) was the same for all three years(same intake on early 1970 models as well,I think);the Trans-Am 2-4bbl cross-ram used 600cfm Holleys. MoparMarks also had the "67 two-bolt mains,68-9 four-bolt mains" correct. Another interesting point: '67's and '68 mills were "small-journal crank" versions,'69's went to the larger main journals. Don't quote me on that fact, though. The first "in-the-trunk" headers were made by Kustom Headers here in the Flint,MI area. I used to be heavy into early Z's,so there's still some info stored inside my cranium.
