Brake booster/push rod clearance issues

We are currently converting to disk brakes all around on our 69 Bee and our speed shop mechanic who’s doing the job is having issues with mounting the brake booster on the firewall because the push rod arm is not flush with the mounting plate on the booster as seen above. Says this is his first B-body conversion and he’s never seen this issue with boosters ordered for GMs and such. So he is considering cutting the push rod enough to make the protruding arm flush. Does anyone know if that is the correct way to address this issue? Don’t want him cutting anything if there is another way. Thanks.
 
I had some hassles with the front disk conversion on my ’63. Part of the issue was converting manual to power brakes. There was a lot of putzing with the brake pedal rod and throw. This area can be played with; the booster rod has limited adjustment with the MC (set gap I used a gauge for I bought for this project) though not with the pedal rod to booster. The playing needs to be on the pedal rod end. If your ride was already power brakes, the pedal ratio matter should be behind you. I machined a new push rod link with backstop to brake light switch (thread-adjustable) from the pedal to mate to the booster rod. If you’re going from manual to power setup, don’t know, the ratio needs to factored. A few more photos of what you’re encountering could be helpful as I might be in left field with what you're discussing.

You have to cut the booster's rear threaded rod just short enough so that lever just clears the firewall
Also make certain it has the short clevis not the long one. The short one is about 1 1/2"

Sorry - I was talking apples & oranges on this booster, I have a GM vette MC and dual/boost but the rod configuration is different than mine.

Thanks, that’s what we dug up as well. I’ll have to find out if the kit came with a shorter clevis as well. I don’t think it did.

The longer clevis is about 1" longer(2 1/2"), that might be most of your problem
