Installed the ssbc front disc brakes and ramman master cylinder/power booster combo on my 68 charger and kept the rear drums. What type of valves do i have to plumb into the system. Proportioning, metering, etc. to make it work. Any help would be appreciated. Thank

There have been instances where the componets work well together and nothing is needed- not even a proportioning valve. I am going to start with no additional valves and see how things work out .................................MO

easyest way is an adjustable prop valve to the rear.tighten all the way and slowly turn out untill rear brakes lock up on hard brake.then adjust back a small bit till they dont.(easy to do in a big parking lot)your brake bias should be good from there.about 25 mph stops.

I say go with the adjustable plumbed into the rear line like 67 Coronet said.

Thanks guys. Gonna order an adjustable proportioning valve from ssbc today. Thanks guys

Can i use the stock distribution block and splice a proportioning valve in the rear brabe line. Car was originally a 4 wheel drum car. Just wanna use factory fitting brake lines

yes.that is how it should be done.as long as the car was all drum there is no prop valve, just a diverter block.adjustable goes in the single rear line to the rear.you dont even need to cut anything.just loop the line from the rear and splice in adjustable valve right to the block.(loop gives enough room for the new valve)

Rick Ehrenberg says that in custom applications, running the combination block/proportioning valve is a waste of time because their purpose was to incorporate a federally mandated safety warning light.

Just curious what a metering valve is used for and do i need one or is that another name for a proportioning valve
