Last night I recorded a couple episodes of this. It was on MAVTV.
I am watching the 68 Baja race. Pretty crazy seeing the cool vehicles and hearing about how they recorded the race.
James Garner raced a Bronco.
If you have any interest in off road racing, it is pretty cool to see the vintage footage.

I also remember James Garner racing a 442 Oldsmobile in off road racing! This is Jim Rockford at the tone leave your name and number!

I caught The Racing Scene on TCM awhile back (last winter?). It's about James Garner's racing interests in 1969. I enjoyed watching it.

ON ANY SUNDAY
with Steve McQueen & Bruce Brown (? IIRC)
Roger Decoster, Magoo/Dan Magraw
Bruce did a crapload of Surfing films too, Endless Summer was a good one
they did a crapload of offroad, desert racing Mint & Baja stuff, on film
some with Steve some Steve just backing/funding it

I just watched 'The Racing Scene' with James Garner a couple nights ago
James was a huge Raiders fan, saw him on the sidelines a lot,
got his autograph when I was like 10...
Guy was cool personified... & a driver & a great golfer too boot...

There was one about Panelli Jones his 'Last Ride' (I think that was the name)
doing 50 straight years of Baja 500 & 1000, & the Mint 400
he died a couple (5+ ?) years back
his daughter got him to get out the 'Big Oly' Bronco out of a museum,
the family, his son & youngest daughter along with Parnelli prepped it
& they raced it
& they finished that his last 50th consecutive years race...
Parnelli wasn't doing well he was in a wheelchair, but still his great attitude
his sense of humor/knowledge was unrivaled...
(I used to buy {or he'd sponsor them} my Good Year slicks from him
at any of his/Parnelli's Jones Firestone stores
Antioch/Castro Valley/San Leandro (San Lorenzo ?)/Haward/SoCal
he'd always have me come in to his private office SL store & he'd share stuff
& we'd BS, like he knew me my whole life, from me 18-48 so much history & photos,
wish I documented any of it... He showed up at a few races when he was close
had an open invitation, told him anytime he wanted to I'd leave 2 for him at the gate..
Only IF, I had the forethought to keep a history, Trans Am champ,
drag racer/early FC,
off-roader champ, Indycar, USAC, SODA what a life etc.)

I watched On Any Sunday a few weeks ago. Great period movie.

Bullitt was on TCM yesterday. I can't help but get sucked in when it pops up on TV. Awhile back, they started including a 20 minute feature film about the cars and the chase after the movie when they play it. I believe this is a TCM production, and I can't find it online. I do have it on my DVR, though. It's a great piece that includes how Steve McQueen and Bill Hickman took the cars to a race track and practiced driving close at speed.
