Great job and isn't it great to now be able to clean bugs from your radiator?

P/steering you woosie! And you almost hit 50mph for a minute(?). I guess the jack stands are officially retired? Luv it.

"No kids or kids on bikes were harmed during the filming of this video." (I think you heard the e-brake cable rattling on the H-pipe when I hit a bump. It only did that one time while I had it out.)

Great looking. Did you put a plate on before your drive?

Thanks Fran. I received the "Vintage" Tag registration about 3:00pm after a fourteen day wait. So out the road I went when I was officially legal!

I was steering with my left hand and taking the video with my phone in my right hand. (Kids, don't try this at home). I need a cheap Go-Pro before I get a ticket.

Jack stands will be in her future. Steering wheel isn't straight, (I hate front end shops that do that) and I'm going to set the torsion bars up a couple of rounds. I'll wait till a rainy day.

Well...How did it feel? This was the shakedown run? Sure looked and sounded Great! I wait with great anticipation, for the tire frying , let it all hang out video! ... After the break in of coarse!
Great Work KK! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Thunder!
The car handled well. Acceleration is just a little flat and I know what that is. (Wrong accelerator pumps in the eddies). Brought back memories from when I owned a '64 in the way these cars drive. It rides smooth and quite. The exhaust isn't loud at all from inside the car.

I'm taking it out again today to fill it up with some more e-free. The station that I get it from is about five miles one way and there will be a lot of back roads on the way home!

Looks great kid! It sure is a nice feeling to get it on the road alright.

Question on the carpet...what color is it and where did you buy it? Your interior and dash are the same color as my 62 Ply (rose beige) and I couldn't find a matching carpet color, either the rose beige or dark maroon.

It's called Rose Beige, made by ACC. I bought it through Classic Industries. Only problem was the box was dated "2011" and it looked like a crumpled up piece of aluminum foil! It still needs some flattening out. Some 90 deg weather should take care of that. I just didn't like the look of the dark brown that the factory used.

I was trying to find a Rose Beige seatbelt webbing with no luck. I ended up going with a Medium Beige from Seatbelts Plus. It's not that light of a color and it goes with the carpet rather well. Best I could find.

Seat belts are good match. Good to see you got it out Saturday. Sunday was a wash. Looks and sounds great KK. About time you had some fun with it.

Thanks MW. When i had it out Saturday, i drove it to the place that has E free gas and filled her up. Then continued on to the next town to visit with a friend. Had it up to 60 mph and it did great. When I got home I noticed a drip or two coming from the pinion seal. So I'll be replacing that before I take it out again. Rainy days are good for something!

Pinion seal was just crying because his jackstand buddies left him!

You're probably right. I'll be putting his buddies back under there real soon.

That's what happens when you shortcut something on these old pieces. It was a used center section, gears looked real nice, correct play and it didn't show any signs of leaking. It's not the easiest thing to replace the seal with the unit out of the housing, as far as to re-torque the pinion nut. So I opted not to install a new one. Guess what, it's going to get a new one now...
