I've got a block and heads on order, I know I can get the rotating assy from Scat, the only issue I'm looking at is rockers/lifters. What are your recommendations? I'd like a roller assy, but of course that's big money on top of what I'm already spending.

Any pics of your Hemi in a 65 B body would be nice... thanks!

Buy them once and buy Stage V rollers. I would never build another Hemi using stock rockers again.

Ive built Hemis with the Chinese rocker system on Ebay, ok for stock low rpm motor with oil thru pushrods. But anything else Is Stage V period endf of story the finest made in the business. Pristine in construction.

Stage V if you are going to drive it. RBRE - TD or Jesel for racing, I have the Barton deal and am very happy with it, I have run the Stage V stuff and it is top notch for stock stand style. I did not know there were Chinese hemi rockers?! No thanks to any of that.

Good luck with your build,

Mark

Stage 5 for sure. I had a set of Landy rollers & loved them, but they're hard to find.
Wish I woulda had Stage 5.

I agree, Stage V or Jesel.....Chinese crap, run for da freakin hills, the Hemi isn't in the car yet and its screamin NO, NO, NOOOOOO don't do it! I can see the rear of the bell housing as it's going in the distance!

Who's heads did you buy?
Remember you get what you pay for. Stage V would be a great choice or the Ra Barton Hemi roller rocker kit. Keep in mind if you go Ray Barton you'll need to pull for an external oiling source that has a 1/8' NPT port for Barton's spray bar system and you'll have to drill and tap the back of the block for a Tee to -3AN.

I'm using a World Products aluminum block from BMP, and Edelbrock's new aluminum Hemi heads. They installed them on a crate motor and got a pretty impressive increase in power. I'm still not sure what I'll be using for rockers: rollers or not, but I've been communicating with Tim at FHO. he's been a great help.

Check out hemihaines.comhe's out of florida , has a great site ,a nice pictorial on a hemi build from start to finish . Think you'll like it .im doing the book time now also .every good mopar man should have a hemi at least once in his or her lifetime . Good luck with your beast

Thanks, I'll check that out. Funny... I told my friend that this is way more than I wanted to spend on a stroker 408, but just like you said, I have to have a Hemi at least once in my life! haha

If your going to play Hemi then you have to have big budget. The top end is going to cost 7500.00 otherwise stay with wedge motors. The hemi stuff just is rare and expensive. The Stage V for Street motors are the best. I stand corrected. Race motors Jessel is the top dog for racing. I believe they build for everyone else.

$2500.00 - $3000.00 more for a Hemi race top end over a Wedge. Most all of it is in the rockers, shafts and stands. With that being said the WOW factor and resale value is a lot higher.
If I had a 64-67 B Body I wouldn't have anything but a Hemi in it.
Keep us posted.

Where did you get your block at?

I ordered the block from World Products (BMP now), Bill gave me a good price. The heads are coming from Edelbrock, and I'm working with HP Performance for some of the top end stuff. The plan is to go 528 cubes, and might as well go rollers since non-rollers aren't that much less.

So what would you guys do with an all aluminum engine: clear coat it or leave it bare?

Nice... so did you have to modify anything to install the Hemis? I've got some firewall rust, so I'm removing the heater box (eventually aftermarket A/C/Heater) and having a flat firewall made to give more room. I'd like to do a later K-member, like the one from QA1, when I install the Hemi.

I plan on painting mine Race Hemi Orange for a kind of stock looking appearance.

Was it a tough decision to paint over an aluminum block? lol they're so awesome... almost want to show it off! What do you think about painting the block something other than Hemi Orange? Is that like putting an LS into a Mopar? I'm thinking probably blue.... to be different.

I think pettys engines were blue and so were sox &martins and they were all I would say pretty sucessfull so blue don't sound to bad to me.

65roadracer what are ya gonna do with that 318 poly motor?? I've got a 63 Belvedere that can use some help...LoL !!
