Hello, can someone supply some close up pics of a 70 b body bulkhead connector showing any and all single wires that come out of it? I have a couple of mystery wires that look oem but have no clue as to where they go.

Sorry disregard this image it's the wrong pic, unable to upload the correct one

correct mystery wire pic

Okay here's the correct pic. from what I can make of a wiring diagram the yellow might go to the headlight switch, but how? the other wire is the grey plug to the right of the yellow wire, again how do I connect these to their respective places?
Thanks

Ok, this is the same (engine bay view) of your connector) I only have a paper 70 manual, maybe can post a photo of the drawing later

The yellow goes to the starter relay. This is in fact the "start" signal from the ignition switch

The other wire (push on) already hooked to the start relay goes to the neutral safety if you have an auto, or the clutch safety switch if you have a stick

I cannot tell the wire colors on the T connector. Are they Black/ light green, and tan? That would be to the hood mounted turn signal indicators

Comes from V (tan) in the bulkhead

Comes from S (Bk/ lit green) in the bulkhead

The yellow comes from T in the bulkhead

Thanks alot, the info really helped alot. I think that plugged in wire with the red stain is in the wrong place, and the grey plugged wires are black, light green and tan.
Thanks again

See if the wire with the red stain is hot with key in run. If so it's the ignition run, should go to the ballast resistor. or regulator, whichever is missing.

The the yellow should go to either of the start relay push on terminals

The remaining one should go to either neutral safety or clutch safety

i'll check the stained wire tomorrow after a batt switch. I traced the blue wire from the relay and found... it's an 8 inch dead end wire with a round eyelet connector wth?
the engine harness is new one bright spot, there's a short light tan wire with a black tracer, does this go to the other side of the ballast?

dead end blue

here's a pic of that dead end blue wire and that light brown plug wire

!!!OH!!! I didn't realise it was dead ended. Not factory. I would guess that someone had the ring grounded, then the yellow hooked to the other terminal would allow the relay to operate/ engine to crank.

Is this a stick or auto?

I can't figure the tan? wire is. You might look it over and be sure of the color

I didnt know it was a dead end till i pulled on it. I think he used it to by pass the nss. the car was a column but he put in a b&m manual shift tranny with reverse pattern neutral lock out. It does not have nss, starts in any gear. with the old cracked burnt rigged wires I cant believe he drove it like this, or me for that matter. but it ran like a raped ape

I cant tell what color the other plug in wire is, it may be a real light lavender or mauve, it deff has a blk tracer. One other thing is when I bought the engine harness from ebay, I knew it was for a six pac car, I didnt know it was a small block, that was my bone head mistake but the only difference I can see is the shorter coil wires and the purple wire for the 6 pack solinoid.

If you're running a TF it should already have the NSS on the trans. Just get a pigtail if you don't have it, and run the center contact of the transmission NSS up to where the blue is now, hook up the yellow and it should crank.

It does have the nss on the tranny, its got 5 maybe? prongs sticking out. I'll do that RR, Thanks a ton. oh and that short little plug off the engine harness is a very light grey

LOL they have three on the later model (?68? 69? later) Center one is NSS, outer two are for backup lights. On the older cars, NSS has one terminal, backup lamps was on shift linkage.

ok, I got a good look at it, three for sure, do they still make the (boot?) lead for it? I wonder if the audio type plug comes in an auto app

I believe you can get those pigtails from NAPA, etc. IF not, they were used for about a hundred years on torqueflites

cool, I'll check napa, out here in nm all the junk yards have chevy's

Holy crasptastic crapamaggot. How many "bulkhead connector" threads do we need? No offense, but you got like four goin.
