BURNOUTS, donuts and general showing off? Proper procedure??

Do they have a flexible line with a steel braided sleeve? Maybe that's where the no rubber line thing came from? Just a guess.
No it's rubber like the front ones.. Sometime in '73 or '74 that rear brake hose has the "Y" fitting crimped onto the hose...

Life is short. Sounds like a really fun opportunity. These cars are made to be driven and shown off. I did all the work myself. If something breaks or gets damaged, I'll fix it.

I guess you like to throw money away......or burning a pile of $20 bills......old I am.....stupid I'm not.....but teach his own......

Fancy restaurants.. expensive scotch.. unnecessary trips.. no one suggested you're stupid. Looking for an old folks home perhaps.. yes each to his own

You could always ignore the warnings on the bottle, and spray ArmorAll on the treads. It's slippery stuff.

It sounds like you need a qualified stunt driver. Send me an airplane ticket.

I had no problems making plumes of tire smoke today with a bit of break torque and a lot of accelerator pedal. In drive. Plenty of deserted county roads around here.

It is disappointing to see the limp wrist dudes that lost their mojo....if they ever had it.
Burnouts? Hell yeah! Light them up, smoke them out, have some fun. Anyone that thinks it is a waste of time is a dullard that likely can't spin a wrench any better than a monkey can.
Our tires usually age out long before the tread is worn out so why not?
The one thing that stands out for me is the advice to start in 1st and upshift to second as quickly as you can. Getting the tires to start spinning is the hard part, once they start, they can often stay going through 2nd gear.
Armor All on the tires, soapy water, whatever washes off easy will work.
No, this is NOT abusing the car. It is having fun with it. Gentle starts and driving around under the speed limit while never crossing 2800 rpms is for vegans and dudes on parole that are afraid of the cops.
Is that the guy that you want to be?

No, I really doubt it.
To me, it is a sad thing to see a guy own a legendary car and not run it hard every once in a while.

I'm happy to beat on my stuff, but I ain't making a dealership commercial so they can profit without being compensated... JMHO

Sure....I'd want a pair of rear tires at least...

What would really be cool is to jump it off some ramps.

Next week me and my 70 Charger will be filming a commercial for the local dodge dealership. The script calls for burnouts and donuts. They're trying to sell tires. My concern is proper procedure without damaging anything or at least without damaging the transmission. Any advice is welcome. It's a recently restored 70 charger, 383/727/8 3/4. Very mild cam, edelbrock intake and avs2 carb, transgo shift kit, front and rear sway bars, qa1 arms, strut rods, shocks, 3.55, etc just to give an idea. Nice solid car. Finally dialed everything in(carb, kickdown, timing, alignment, etc)and runs strong. It just lacks that initial "punch" when you stab it from a stop.
Let's get back to my issue......... I do have disc all around with wilwood adjustable prop valve that has been turned down. I cannot burnout from a stop in drive and I'm afraid to start in a lower gear because of the horror stories. What do I need to do?
I got to ask.... is your 8.75 equipped with a sure grip set ?
The whole thing sounds like a blast, the 2bbl should work ok , bump a little more timing in, start in low as suggested, little extra rear tire psi.
When doing that 1st gear tire fry do not just dump off the throttle. That's tuff on transmisson parts. After you get that smoke rolling just ease off it.

Burnouts ? Hell, yeah ! Give me a pair of tires and some $$, and I'll burnout more smoke than Mount St. Helens. As far as donuts, "Donuts"... are you kidding me ? go get a kid to wander around in circles.

That's funny, I was kinda thinking the same thing. I think I've done two in my whole life and both as a teenager. The 1st one becuase....I was a teenager and the 2nd, I was a teenager and lost control of the *** end trying to look cool taking a turn to fast and to try and save myself from not looking cool I kept it spinning to make it look planned. Never really saw the draw to it, I always had more fun trying to keep the car going in a straight line with more power than traction.

Perhaps, as an alternate "fun" thing to do is: drain all the engine oil, start up the engine (not a motor, as motors use electricity) rev it up and wager the time to self destruct.......fun???.....no, Just stupid.....like doing burn outs.......just my opinion.....

Biult this sexy bitch for one reason only, burnouts any time, any gear, all day long! When a Dodge dealer asks you to do a burnout...you do a freaking burnout!
