About those wheel locks.

The Internet suggested I go to my tire store and ask if they have a key. The guy pointed out they have a 7-spline key for the back wheels but the front needs a 10-spline key.

:cursin:

I stumbled onto the kit that AutoZone sells for $50. Since they're a block away from the house I drove over and asked if I could try the keys. Sure enough, the jut has 6 or 7 different keys: small and large, 7 and 10 splines.

They didn't have the individual keys for sale in the two sizes. So, I ordered them from Amazon with a set of black steel stick style lug nuts with 1 day shipping.

I ordered the Destroyer1320 neutral release strap cover before the trip down to Texas and it arrived today. It's a simple install but will have to wait until tomorrow.

Since the homies are stealing Challengers and Chargers I'll be installing an aftermarket security system from IGLA that comes with an alarm, starter lockout and requires a pin code to start. It also has a feature that disables the car if I get car jacked. Another system called Compustar has a drone feature that tracks the car via GPS.

The included key FOBs will also solve the problem with having only one factory FOB.

She sure is pretty! We got red and blue covered,I might need to get a white Hellcat Redeye! Enjoy your new ride!

I bought a B5 Challenger R/T new in 09, and loved it. I sold it after buying my Magnum in ‘21 as it took my 09s space in my garage, plus I’d bought a new Ram recently and felt like I had too many late models anyway.
I really enjoy the Magnum, but really missed my Challenger. Earlier this year I noticed dealers had many left over 23s sitting around and some were dealing. I hatched an idea of getting a Scat Pack if the price, transmission and color were right. Since it would have already have been “lot rotting” for many months, I’d not feel as bad if I had to park it outside, plus I could store it winters.
I found a blue 6 speed Scat Pack out of state in July, and after buying it realized just how much I’d enjoyed driving my 09 Challenger, but this one even more! The 5.7 in my old one was a bit weak, the 392 solves that! The brakes left a little to be desired on the 09, the Brembos on the new one resolve that! And the dash and steering wheel are much improved over the taxi cab ones in my 09.
I probably should never have let my 09 go, “blue bomber” was my first new car purchase! But “blue bomber II” is a worthy replacement!
I debated trying to pick mine up from Missouri and driving it home, but instead had it delivered. Maybe I should have gone to get it, that trip you did looked fun!
I’m sure you’ll enjoy yours like I do mine! Dodge did everything right when they designed the LX Challengers!

Challengers come with built in TDS?

I started another thread about the wheels asking if they were SRT wheels. Does anyone know? Maybe knockoffs?

I received the 2 wheel lock keys and factory style lug nuts this afternoon. The keys fit and soon that problem will be remedied.

The longer 10 splines were in the front and the shorter 7 splines were in the back.

Replaced with the correct length factory style lug nuts. I replaced the generic center caps with these.
