If I had a car like that and was 17 , I would do whatever it took to get it on the road and drive the heck out of it! before any restoration took place. Beat on it! Beat on it at the end of the day you'll have the most fun with it at this stage//. my 2cents

Pick up a welder and learn. You got your whole life ahead of you. Nailing down doing your own work opens up a lot more doors for you, saves a ton of money and gives a whole new sense of pride when she's done. It's not rocket science, it's just work! Tons of material to learn from online, in books and from other folks in general. I taught a friend how to weld auto sheetmetal (to a point) and weld in his own quarter panels on a lazy weekend. All you need is the space, proper tools and the ambition to work and learn. Body work, use quality fillers and paints/primers, decent sanding blocks/boards and a lot of elbow grease..you'll catch on pretty quickly. The more you do, the more you'll improve.

Thanks Propwash, I joined a formula SAE club at college and am now going to learn welding and how to do many other tasks next semester when we start building the next race car (The club builds a race car from scratch and competes with it). I have also decided that i want to design and manufacture my own engine parts using my college's engineering department to machine the parts and Solidworks to create the parts. Its going to take alot of learning, but i think im taking the right steps in order to make a career out of what i love, plus it makes me feel great knowing ill put my own creation into the car.

Update: me and my dad went to the Mopar Alley Mopar Ralley car show/swap meet at ohlone college in Fremont California today and purchased a torque converter and drag racing rear shocks.

This will be going with the 67 440 block that's bored .030 with 67 915 heads and a crower hdp 282 cam and off of your guys suggestions I will most likely be running a Weiand Action Plus intake and probably a Holley 3310 carb. This will go along with a 727 trans and 3:23 rear end.

Let me know what you guys think and if I may be better off using another torque converter or shocks. Thanks again ahead of time!

I hope we don't have to wait until next summer for an update. I hope you keep after this car .. it's gonna be one hell of a looker and chick magnet not to mention an ultra cool car that you will enjoy no matter what the girls or anyone else thinks.
