I have been doing some research lately on windshield gaskets and have a couple of times seen where people say the 66-67 2 and 4 door sedans use the same windshield and gaskets as the 68-70 sedans. Can anybody confirm this with an interchange book?

If this is true it will allow me to buy a gasket for $70 instead of $300.

Thank you in advance.

have you tried ebay:thinker:

Ebay has nothing to do with the question I am trying to answer. Yes i can buy a gasket off ebay, yes they make and sell new 66/67 sedan gaskets, and no they aren't cheap. But to my understanding from what I have read most companies haven't figured out that they are the same.

Not everything on the internet is right and I'd like a guy with a book to confirm or deny said myth.

thanks though

I was not referring to parts I was referring to books that have been on ebay like Chrysler parts interchange books (manuals)

My book says 1966 -1969 2 & 4 door sedans and station wagons use clear glass # 2570295 or tinted glass # 2570598 and 1970 4 door sedans only uses these glasses. The 1970 2 door sedan and hard top share the same glass. I do not have the part # for the weatherstrip but any good glass shop can advise you on that. There is always a couple tubes urethane and a pinch weld ribbon, problem solved for less that $70.00 in my area.

Well that tells me that there is a good chance this is true then. If anybody has the part numbers for the weather strip please chime in, we can keep others from having to buy an expensive gasket if this works out.

Sorry, I thought you were just implying I was a dumb-*** and didn't look for the gasket

What book do you have? The change is at 68, not 70.

Thanks. Not sure if I am any less confused now that we have conflicting info but given that you have the part numbers I'd say that's probably spot on.

The book I got these windshield numbers from is a Glenn Mitchel collision estimator guide that covers American cars from 1960-1970. I did not write the book I just posted what that book says. I might have copied it wrong, dang-it now I'll have to look it up again. It also listed the gasket to fit all 66-67 models except for the convertible.
