Can’t raise the parking lever on my push button transmission. 1963 Dodge Dart GT

It was rough raising it and lowering it for the past few days. Now it finally won’t move at all so I can’t shift it into reverse or drive. Hits a very firm stop right where I have it in the photo. Any ideas what it could be?

It used to be buttery smooth before this.

Got her looking real good for a scenic drive this weekend too!

I agree, most likely a cable that is bound up. I have cables.

If it isn’t what khryslerkid and dvw said, I’d take that bezel off and make sure there’s nothing binding at the lever. You’re not parked on an incline are you?
 
I have seen the cable bend at the shifter itself.

Nope parked in my garage.
Check to see if the cable housing isn't melted to the exhaust. Check the cable end at the transmission for condition.
Hey so I got under there this morning and found that this was detached from the parking lever right under the dash. Think I can just replace this part and put it right back where it belongs?

Yup I found that part on mopar mall and I’m gonna stick it in when I get it! Hopefully that’s all that is wrong with it
