Can anyone identify this?

Looking at a Charger, only have pictures right now…note attached pic of firewall, area circled in RED. I can’t figure out what that piece on the firewall is? Any thoughts?

It's not stock. And it looks like the firewall has a patch installed with a bunch of screws.

My guess is that it's a original A/C car... someone made a crude plate to run a standard heater box

No worry at all.. i would seam seal around the edges and hit it with satin black...
