62 Ply Belvedere, stock suspension. Original tires are 205/75R14. Not a race car, but will be driven during winters down here in AZ.

For the rear, I have a set of 8x15 steel rims, 4.5" backspace from Summit. I plan on getting 6x15 for the front.

For tire size, I plan on using 255/60R15 tires on the rear and 215/70R15 on the front. Both tires are close on diameter (27.1 and 26.9) so I can use a common spare for front or rear with these sizes.

Any fitment issues with a stock rear wheel wells/leafs on the rear tires?
Anyone have pics of these tire sizes or recommendatons of other frt/rear sizes?

I met a guy with a 67 belvedere with 15 x 8 4 1/2 backspace he was running 255.60.15, he said they rubbed little in fast turns like off ramps ..body roll .I have a 67 gtx plan on running the same size gonna look into a rear sway bar . not shure if the 62 has the same rears space photo.jpgphoto (5).jpg255-60-15DragRadials_zps8d2a729f.jpg

These are 275/60/15 on 15x8's with 4-1/2 in. backspacing. I have about 1/2 in. between top of wheel well lip and the tire; NO RUB!

I have 275/60/15 on a set of old ET wheels. Not sure what the offset is but I think they are 8 inches wide. They fit great and never rub.

Thanks for the pics and opinions. I have been going back and forth on tire combos and don't really need to fill the entire wheel well in the rear. 275s would be a bit much, just looking to add some meat back there. The stock tires look like I stole them from a bicycle when looking from the rear lol. I already measured the rim and have more than enough room to clear in the rear. I just don't want to get a tire that will bulge too much and chance rubbing them.

Nice cars btw:)

IMG_0404.jpgI have 15X8 Welds on my 65 with 4" backspace. 235/60'S on front, 275/60's back with no issues. Car had some OLD Goodyear Gatorbacks in 265/50 that cleared no problem when I bought the car. Planning on 275-305/30-35 on the front and 315-335/30-35's on the back when I move the springs in and minitub it. Will be going 18" on the wheels at that time. Will figure out wheel width/offset/backspace at that time. There is a lot of room under there for lots of rubber.

My son's 62 plymouth has had 255/60 & 275/60. On 8" rim no issues. 10" rim we moved the springs in 3/4". This is with M/T drag radials which run a little wider as well.
