On a 318 with an Aluminum Edlebrock manifold ??
Got them from rockauto, Felpro, supposed to be rubber.. got steel.

ya think? Lots O permatex ..

Mike..

just use rtv sealer and dont use a gasket imo

Steel and aluminum usually doesn't mix well. With an intake, it's not too bad but with heads, it's a total no no. Aluminum expands at a different rate than cast iron so steel gaskets usually etch into the aluminum over time....

No, don't put any RTV on an intake gasket. If you do, only around the water passages. And I agree also, ditch the steel shim gaskets in favor of more conventional pressed paper.
