CANCELLED : Fall Fling Oct 24th 2020 @Irwindale Speedway -Mopar Swap-Show-Drags

Courtyard Marriott sure isn't giving you a very good special rate of 105.00. Can book a room there through Trivago for 103.00 and the Hilton down the road for 93.00 and Spring Hill Suites for 83.00

The Bug In at Irwindale I’m pretty sure has been canceled. Check Irwindale’s and Bug In’s website

But on Sunday Irwindale is doing a Ford vs GM vs Mopar drags and test-n-tune. So the racers can get two days straight of racing if they choose.

Just wanted everyone to know. There are no limitations to General Admission tickets at Fall Fling at Irwindale Dragstrip. You don’t have to bring a Show Car, Drag Car, or Swap Spot. Current Covid requirements apply. Just have fun

You will enter the event at 7:00 am like Woodley.

Also like Woodley will will be able to stage in lines before 7:00 am.

Enter the West gate into track, then get into the marked staging lanes along the 1000ft long parking lot. This lot will be open at least by 3-4 am.

Stupid Question, I have 2 cars I want to bring, but I might have to bring them both. Can I drop a car @ say 5am get a ride home and bring the second one closer to 7am?

You’d have to park it in the General Admission parking spaces. Then later bring it in.
 
Both cars are sticks and if my Wife doesn't want to drive the Charger, which strangely has the lightest clutch, I may have to do that.
 
Word on the internet is that the Fall fling event has been cancelled by the city of irwindale. I didn't believe it! So i asked a friend to check, that knows the president of CPW, the club that puts on the show. CPW pres has confirmed to my friend that the show HAS BEEN CANCELLED due to new covid regulations. The raceway site still shows that the show is on.
I would suggest calling the irwindale speedway office tomorrow during business hours.

The event was canceled.

Please don’t pile-on Irwindale Speedway or City of Irwindale. Since the track got the call mid-morning they and us have put 120% focus and manpower on this.

We still need a good relationship between the city and track to keep the only racetrack around here going

Statement from Chrysler Performance West and Irwindale Speedway & Event Center Regarding

“Fall Fling 25th Anniversary”


(October 20, 2020) Irwindale, CA - Officials from Chrysler Performance West and Irwindale Speedway & Event Center, in consultation with local officials, have made the unfortunate decision to cancel “Fall Fling 25th Anniversary,” until a time when it can be assured that an event of this prestige can be hosted in a safe and successful manor. The event, previously scheduled for this Saturday, October 24th, was set to host a participant only Mopar Swap Meet and Drag Race on Irwindale Dragstrip. CPW and I.S.E.C. ask for patience and understanding from all participants as we look toward the future for possible collaborations.


All pre-paid participants will receive full refunds for the Saturday, October 24th event. Refunds will begin to be processed as soon as possible. Questions can be directed to [email protected]and [email protected]

Steve, thank you and your club for all the hard work and effort trying to make this happen.. Hopefully we can have an event sooner then later and get to enjoy ourselves..

Californians will continue to live under this shitty set of conditions because too many of the residents continue to elect these idiots. This state is the asshole of the country thanks to the politicians. Every other state looks here and shakes their head at the sheer stupidity of the high taxes, high cost of living, stupid legislation and oppressive regulations.
