CARBIE choice for my BB

how many ponies are you shooting for at what compression. on another recent build i obtained 823hp/737tq on pump gas. 1150 cfm.. dyno proven
I'd be happy with 700hp at a minimum for that motor and the 1150 cfm carburetor set up. Looking for 11 -12 to 1 compression. What do you think? Can you help me out on this one?

Holly Street Dominator with a Carter 750 Competition Carb., yes..its a 383
Real nice my 70 RR has a 383 H.P. 335hp and am planning to rebuild this motor and can't decide whether to keep it stock or upgrade it for a good amount of hp around 500 - 600hp without to much exterior radical changes.

stroke it man, muscle motors have got a 383-450ci. yeh i have gone the twin 600 cfm's my compression will be 11:1 should hopefuly come close to 700 hopefully

I'll think I will keep the 383 stock factory and beef up the 440 for 700hp fun. But my plan is to run the original motor in stock configuration (but restored of course) with everything else restored and begin the 440 rebuild and set that up for more HP after awhile I can drive and begin enjoying the car while I rebuild the bigger 440 for more fun later when it's done and swap the engine out. What do you think? I have pics of the 440 in my photo gallery and your welcome to view them and leave a comment if you like. BTW everybody here reading this I am back and in Washington and still waiting for the delivery of my 1970 Roadrunner and should be here in 7-10 days and has been picked up by the transport company. Will be posting more pics today of the Air Compressor, Dual Master Blaster and my new Mig Welding machine.

I bought a carb similar to yours off ebay, it's supposed to be a 780, set up by TRC. I was worried about there being no choke provisions but if you have no trouble, maybe I'll give it a try. It will be on a Torker 440.

Run a single Quick fuel or a 950 Holley. The 2x4 Eddy looks nice but they run poorly. Simple 4 barrel will produce more power reliably and with less head aches. I would also run vacuum advance manifold vacuum. Check the vacuum pot make sure it will work with your cam. If it does not get a vacuum pot for low vacuum. You should under size the carb slightly and use a air fuel ratio probe in your headers to get your mixtures correct. A carb spacer will help a lot and duel plane manifold on street works really well. Stay completely away from a Tri power system, head aches head aches, cracks fuel dripping and too expensive to fix.
