I had a Simpson blanket back in the early '80's that actually fit the 727, but it did get burned by the headers. It was required by the rules My current blanket is not designed for a 727, but I modified it to be in the proper location. I've never exploded a 727 but I do follow the NHRA rules, as foolish as they sometimes seem to be. I still can't see how some products get certified.
