Careful with lithium batteries

Yep, I remember it well. As advanced as that car was, it just reinforced my apprehension towards
electric cars all the more. I know, I know - I'm old and resistant to change, but I just am not ready
for electric cars, at least until they make some more progress with the batteries in them.

Its not just accepting change either. Producing electrical components for hybrids and electric vehicles is just as harmful to the environment as the existence of an internal combustion vehicle, so the championing feature of hybrids and electrical vehicles is more of a marketing gimmick than the actual truth...

Amen!
You got THAT right. Hell, I've seen documentaries of the slave CHILD labor being used
in some countries to mine the raw materials needed to make the batteries even.
We won't even get into what it takes to generate the electricity needed to recharge
the dang things.....

As an electronics engineer I get magazines & emails with industry news. There is a Siver-Zinc battery still in the labs that is supposedly 5 times more energy dense than Li-Ion, yet virtually impossible to get ignited. Of course, they're probably still another 5-10 years from appearing in the new Tesla.
