carlisle 2010

What color is your Demon ? Ron

It is orange on orange. I was there from 11:30 until 3:00. There was one other orange Demon, but it had a black interior.

Racing is music when I'm at a race. When I'm trying to talk to people in the swap meet area and can't hear, when I'm trying to get to the manufacturer's midway and dodging cars in the staging lanes, when the pit vehicles are running me down, that's a different animal. I've been to NASCAR, Supertrucks, Pinks All Out, etc. and made 1/4 mile passes in three different cars. I'm just sayin'.

I was thinking about Carlisle 2011. What would anyone recommend? towing/driving. I mean is it feasible for me to drive my '69 Charger from Chicago? Its a 440 with a 10.5 compression ratio, and a TorqueFlite. 3.55 Sure-Grip with A/C.

I used to drive my 440+6 Road Runner with 3.54 Dana from Fort Worth, TX to the Mopar Nats in Columbus, Ohio. Black vinyl interior and NO A/C! I was beat by the time I got there but I always enjoyed the trip. I live in Clevelend now and the trip is a lot shorter. I'm also older and am glad I'm not driving over a thousand miles to the shows.

Wow that had to be a long trip. I bet the mountains screw with the carbs so that'll mean exessive gas consumption, and the car would probably be a little lethargic. Well I hope the show will be as good as this year if not better.

Back then Mopar Muscle magazine sponsored cruises to the Mopar Nats. They left from Comp Cams in Memphis, Year One in Georgia, and a few other places. It was way cool caravaning with a bunch of other Mopars and with the magazine guys and photographers. Yeah, it was hot and I burned a lot of dead dinosaurs, but it was well worth it. If you come from Chicago next year, maybe find a few others in the area and make a rolling party of it!

Great pics! Didn't get to go this year. Is that the "Green Ghost" car?
You may be referring to "Black Beauty" from the Green Hornet TV show. It's a customized Imperial. They had cardboard figures of Van Williams & Bruce Lee next to the car.

I liked that car, I think it is far superior to a similar Cadillac of the day.
