Ok guys, im a newbie and jumped into my firt 68 charger R/T project head first. Im trying to come up to speed on finding my own resource guides, but sometimes its great to fall back and just ask. I have a dual 4bbl intake with two Carter AVS carbs, First one: D9 4618SA (what i know is its a April 69 carb) possible from a police package 440?
Second one: H7 4640SA My question is, would this have been the original one for my 68 that has a build date of Nov 67?

I know my car would have only had a single 4bbl, and thats what i would like to go back to. Any words of advice?

the block is a 71 440 (G 440)
Did any year come with a dual 4bbl setup? or is this an after market intake? Thanks for all your help in advance! :headbang:

Thanks Crunchy Frog! thats an awesome link. To answer my own questions, both my carbs are off a 69 440 (4618) w/ a automatic trans and the (4640) an auto trans and a/c!
I would have had a 4429. Anyone have one they would like to trade?

No factory two 4 BBL's on 440's and especially not with AVS carbs. Dual quad applications used AFB's and were found on the HEMI only in the late 60's. Dual inline AFB's were also used on early 383 and 413's so it's possible you have one of those old iron intakes. If the intake is aluminum then it's probably an Edelbrock, Offy or Weiand. Sounds like you figured out the carbs.

Meep-Meep, Thanks. it was to late last night to run out there and get the numbers off the intake, but you are right on. after looking it up, it is an iron intake off a 413 from 59-60 or 62.
Im finding out my engine is kin to frankenstein! lol

Cool! That's a neat setup and should work well with a pair of 400 CFM AFB's.
