Cast iron bracket for AC compressor on a 383 in 1968

Was that cast iron bracket the goes across the top of the intake painted with the engine or did it go black? Since it’s held on with two of the intake bolts I was curious. Still trying to hunt that particular bracket up by the way. Thought I had one but it’s for a 440. Too wide.

That looks like his bracket & it'll be painted black...

Yes that’s the bracket I am referring too. So it was black from the factory then correct?
