This guy put a tremendous amount of work in this, 27 Studebaker cab, everything else is heavy duty.

Looks like it might have been a single axle "day cab" tractor originally, with super single tires on the rear.
Might not have been "that hard" to set the body on the frame, alter the steering, find a grille (maybe from a buldozer) and mount those headlights.

I first saw this streetrod at the Starlight car cruise in Wexford PA a year ago. At that time it was unpainted and the windshield leaked. The frame is totally custom built and was not an original rig frame. He took lengths of rig frame rail and made a frame to match the body and to accomidate the driveline. The engine, nose and headlights are from a mid nineties Catepillar dozer and the axles, transmission and suspensions are from a rig. The exhaust, gas tanks/steps, and front bumper are custom built. The guy that built this car is very mechanical and the car is very well done.

I agree, it's probably not what I would do, but I like it, to each their own... I think it's a cool Heavy Duty Hot "Semi" Rod, the guy was thinking outside the box for sure...

I was in Bakersfield one year and in the parking lot of FAMOSO was a heavily customized rat rod truck thing based on an old F6. Looking closer it was all late model diesel truck running gear and he even stuck the factory gauges in the dash. The welds and general fab work, design, layout was nothing short of spectacular.

There's a motorcycle shop around here that has a mid 1940's 1 ton Dodge cab and bed on a mid 90's Mitsubish 1 ton frame and drivetrain. a/c and everything.

There's also a hot rod Mack B61 that's used as a revenue earning tractor, and a fairly wild custom long frame rig tractor of some kind that's a personal toy of a local dumpster company owner.
