My son got a new Ford Lightning.

He already told them he's not home charging it. BTW about 15 years ago I had two 220V outlets installed at the house. One on the back deck for the hot tub and one in the garage for welding. When I sell the home It should look good to those with an EV for fast charging.
When dad and I built my shop, I installed a 100 amp service with two single 220 50 amp outlets....one at the front and one at the rear of the shop close to the overhead doors then a double outlet in the middle where the compressor is. The compressor is a 220 unit and the reason for having a double outlet is not having to unplug the compressor to plug in a welding machine. Turns out that I've rarely used the central drop for a welding machine.

I had heard that the home chargers require a 60 amp feed.

Damn right! You only do that if you get an allowance and an outlet installed at your home by the Company - and make sure it's at least 30 feet from any buildings....or at least far enough to drag it away from a building if a fire starts.

If he's not home charging he's not gonna get much work done. GM employees who are driving EVs, which is most get a home charger installed at company expense and monthly stipend to offset higher elec cost. I would think other employers who choose EVs for their drivers would do the same. Too much lost time if not home charging.

on a side note , a while back, a lightning got on the 4 lane and showed his *** , dam thing started down shifting the 10 speed trans , you wouldnt believe how long it took to get in the lowest gear available , could have nailed his *** with about anything for a gear or two..
I NEVER RUN IN TO THESE PPUNKS WHEN I`M DRIVING MY BARRACUDA , or when the traffiic is lite enough to show them up...
