Center Console 67 Charger Trim options

So here is my 66 i have now low and behold the seats are the same these are originals

Interior was redone by previous owner .
It has the full length console & is a factory 383 4bbl , AT & AC !

Only the 1966 Chargers came with the long console that extended to rear seat. It was a 2-piece affair that bolted together in the middle. In 1967, the console changed to the one piece design commonly seen in Coronet 500 or R/T. I know that the console was standard equipment on a 1966 Coronet 500, but became an option for 1967. I suspect this may have been the case for the Charger as well. I have seen 1967 Charger's with a "Buddy" seat instead of console, but don't think I have seen one with nothing. Did all 1967 Charger's with automatic come with a console, or could you get column shift like on Coronet 500 and R/T ? There is a 1966 Charger in my London, Ontario area that has standard equipment 318 Poly with 3-speed manual on column. It has the standard equipment full length console with a decorative top plate with no shifter. I also once saw a 1966 Coronet 500 in a local junkyard equipped the same way. In hindsight, I wish I had saved the console it of it.

This is true of non-Charger 1966 consoles, but they changed to one-piece for 1967, and carried through to 1970 in b-bodies. I have a 1967 R/T with one-piece console.

I understand what your saying I am only saying Early 67 B-body used 2 piece consoles. I had a few of them they have bolt on console ends and are not one piece. They look just like the later ones but are not the same as the one piece. I have 2 piece one still it's a 4 speed one from a 67 GTX and sold a few other from 67 models they are a much stronger console.

Anything is possible and I only had one '67 Charger which was an console Auto. I would pull up the carpet and see what is on the trans tunnel that should tell you whether it came that way and's not a lot of time to invest...

Center console resolved car showed up no sign of mounting brackets at all original carpet and nothing to show any mod work done

The factory data book from 67 shows both the console and the buddy seat as options so a non console car was available.

He has a 4 speed with no console. They only made the console lid with the blank block off plate for 1966 hence the 3 speed wasn’t available with a console in 67

Yes, in 67 you could get a buddy or mother-in-law seat and shift on column. Bucket seats were the only choice however. Also in 66 or 67 (I forget which, maybe both) you could get a console with shift on the column, I have pictures of one here somewhere.
