center console help

i have a 70 super bee 4 speed car with a missing console! i see a lot of automatic consoles on ebay and other sites im wondering if i buy a auto center console if i can convert the top plate to be a 4 speed console?? appreciate any info.

As far as converting the top plate...It's pot metal, so it wouldn't be the hardest thing in the world to do. Might be a bit tough to look decent. Or if you have cash just shooting out of your pockets like a geyser, you could but new plates......Myself, I would look for a decent restorable OEM set.

The short answer is yes, but like prop said, the final results are in the hands of the person cutting it. You will also have to cut the side to clear the floor hump.
