Central CA Drag race, swap car show Famoso Raceway Sept 7 Bakersfield CA

The event coordinator that ran the Sacramento Raceway Mopar Magic event has been called on to organize the same style event at the Famoso Raceway park north of Bakersfield, CA.

This has been a good event for us in the Sacramento area but with the closing of the track up here, the options for similar events meant finding a new location.
Those that watch Roadkill or Roadkill Garage have seen the guys race the project cars there. It is a nice facility...

Awesome, an all-Mopar event in fordychevy land!

I heard the event was pretty weak. Anyone actually make it there?
I had planned to go but decided that driving the 4 1/2 hours to and from without knowing anyone that was going… wasn’t for me.

I went. Maybe 20-30 cars for the race? Show had 1 70 Challenger, 1 62 b-body and 6 or so R/T Dakota's. Swap was maybe 6 sellers. Glendora Dodge was there selling items, McKellar's out of B-field was there with stuff. Butch Leal was there as advertised. It for sure was toasty. Duh! We left at noon since the deal was pretty much a bust.
My friend found a pedal car for his grandkids, smoking deal and its in awesome shape. He'll repaint it with some metal flake vibes. It was a good shakedown run for my wagon with the 26" radiator and new fan in high ambient temps. When I get the pullies Vanessa at 5 points sent, I'll see how that works for improving. Still need the c-body shroud. The pullies on the car, pump and crank, are aluminum. The pump runs roughly 20%, maybe more, slower than the crank so thats go to go. My friend and I are doing the Power Tour West next month and we'll be taking the wagon.
