Is a remote driver's side mirror a different style from a non-remote mirror?
Is there a lump in the sheet metal around the stud hole, next to the control cable hole, or should it be flat?
I'm doing a '69 Charger that did not come with a remote mirror, thanks' Jim

I'll look at my car tomorrow morning.
Nice Avatar photo! Is that your car?

Yes, but they do go in the same holes.

The factory always overtightened the 1/4" nut which caused the door skin to develop that lump. You're better off leaving it like that rather than bang the sheetmetal down and filling it.

The sheet metal car doesn't have a hole yet so sorry, couldn't tell. Looks like RC has it covered!

Sorry for the late response, internet issues. Yes that is my car. The picture was taken in 1992 on Virginia Street in Reno NV. at the "Hot August Nights" carshow.

THAT is a REALLY cool shot! Can I pay you for a copy? I'd love to make a print!
